Dear colleagues!

 The Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, with the support of the General Directorate for the Servicing of Foreign Missions, invites you to participate in a roundtable discussion for foreign diplomatic representatives, leading Ukrainian media, and the expert community on the topic: "Ukraine – 2025: Peace Through Strength or Capitulation Through Weakness."

The event will take place on February 25, 2025, from 11:00 to 13:10 at the Media Center of the General Directorate for the Servicing of Foreign Missions, located at 6a Pyrohova Street.

The roundtable will address the following key issues:

1.Is a just peace possible without victory, and can victory be replaced by peace, given that:

• Partners fear Russia’s defeat and the possibility of World War III.
• The West is convinced of Ukraine’s defeat and is unwilling to strengthen it, ultimately dooming itself alongside Ukraine.
• The West does not demonstrate strength, making peace through strength unattainable due to its absence.

2.Peace as a compromise through the disarmament of Ukraine, granting it neutral status, and changing its government via elections.

3.Peace through a compromise between Trump and Putin regarding China and the division of spheres of influence in Europe.

4.Peace through a compromise with Russia by removing President Zelensky via elections in Ukraine.

5.Will Europeans agree to a division of spheres of influence in Europe under a "Yalta-2" formula?

6.What are the three most optimal and likely scenarios for Ukraine?

• Continuing the war with Russia until it loses its capacity to conduct further military actions.
• A ceasefire without any security guarantees.
• Peace through Ukraine’s capitulation.
