ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE ROUND TABLE "The Peace Summit in Switzerland as a Test for Peace or World War III"

 

Dear colleagues!

The Institute of Foreign Policy Studies, with the assistance of the Directorate General for Services to Foreign Missions, invites you to take part in a roundtable discussion for foreign diplomatic missions and experts on the topic: "The Peace Summit in Switzerland as a Test for Peace or World War III", which will be held on 3 July 2024, from 11:00 to 13:10, at the press centre of the Directorate General for Services to Foreign Missions at 6-a Pirogova Street.

The following issues are planned to be discussed during the roundtable:

  • Peace summit: victory or defeat of Ukrainian diplomacy as an art possible?
  • Putin's "blank shot" at the end of the Summit: what does it mean?
  • Is it possible to achieve a comprehensive and just peace in the context of global confrontation?
  • Everyone is in favour of a just peace and sovereignty, but everyone puts their own meaning into it.
  • Peace cannot be achieved halfway through a war.
  • The Peace Summit divided the supporters and opponents of the future totalitarian world order and completed the formation of the two Mega-Blocs of World War III.
  • Broad support does not mean universal assistance.
  • What's next? From summits to alliances and coalitions.

The event will be joined by :

Oleksandr MUSIENKO, Head of the Centre for Military and Legal Studies;

Oleksandr KHARA, expert at the Centre for Defence Strategies;

Anna SKOROKHOD, Member of Parliament of the 9th convocation, Head of the Temporary Investigation Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to investigate possible violations of Ukrainian legislation in the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine;

Olha KOSHARNA, co-founder of the Anti-Crisis Nuclear Expert Centre of Ukraine, PhD in Political Science;

Mykola KAPITONENKO, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Foreign Policy of the Institute of International Relations of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, PhD in Political Science, Associate Professor;

Working language: Ukrainian with simultaneous translation into English.
