Dear Colleagues!
The Foreign Policy Research Institute, with the assistance of The Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions, invites you to participate in a round table discussion for foreign diplomatic missions, leading Ukrainian media outlets, and experts on the topic of “Global geopolitical transformations of Ukraine and the world in 2026 in the context of World War III”, which will take place on 27 February 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Media Centre of the Directorate-General for Rendering Services to Diplomatic Missions at 6-a Pirogova Street, Kyiv.
The following conceptual issues will be discussed during the round table:
1. Change in the global balance of power: China is waiting, the US is striving for a ‘new bipolarity’, Russia is aiming for revenge, Europe is unable to gain global subjectivity.
2. Global geopolitical actors as destroyers of the existing system of international relations.
3. Will Donald Trump be able to return the system of international relations to a ‘new bipolarity’?
4. Will China be able to create a unipolar, China-centric world as a result of World War III?
5. Will 2026 be a turning point in the Russian-Ukrainian war and in preventing World War III, according to estimates by the Munich Security Conference 2026?
6. Europe faces challenges from Russia and the United States.
7. The fate of Europe in 2026: war with Russia, appeasement of Russia with the subsequent loss of its future?
8. Projects for the future architecture of European security: formation on the ruins of NATO, NATO+EU tandem, or building European autonomy?
9. Three scenarios for the Russian-Ukrainian war for Ukraine in 2026: victory, defeat, or a temporary truce with the war continuing?
The event will be attended by:
Oleksandr KHARA, Director of the Centre for Defence Strategies
Vladyslav KLOCHKOV, Major General, Ukrainian military scientist.
Valentin BADRAK, Director of the Centre for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies
